Peter D’Alessandri is a figurative artist based in Southend-
He studied Fine Art
at the Norwich School of Art in the early eighties. On graduating, he took the easy
option, and sought employment outside of the art industry. After a break of almost
twenty years, in 2006 he started painting seriously again, and quickly enjoyed some
competition success.
“If you are genuinely striving to better yourself as an artist and truly explore the medium, then painting can be an incredibly difficult and frustrating occupation. It was an easy decision to turn my back on Art. The surprise was that my life experiences in the years since have somehow nurtured the artist in me, giving me a desire to create art, and to develop my skills. ”
Peter has sold paintings to collectors around the world, and has completed a number of commissions. His work has shown at various group shows and Art Exhibitions, where he has also been awarded a number of prizes.
“On leaving Art School I was quite ill prepared, both emotionally and technically, for a career in Art. In recent years, my studies into more traditional painting techniques have furnished me with the means to give expression to the ideas and themes in my art.”
